The 2nd Inter Association AutoSOLO was held on Sunday 18th June at Lymm in Cheshire hosted by Boundless by CSMA on behalf of ANCC.
A total of eight teams were entered from five Associations.
After 11 runs at 3 different tests in scorching 30 deg temperatures, the AWMMC emerged victorious, beating the WAMC by just 14.4 seconds . The team from ACSMC were a further 20 seconds adrift.
Neil Jones took FTD 4.6 seconds ahead of Jamie Yapp. A further 1.9 seconds covered 3rd to 6th places showing how intense the competition was.
The top 5 places had cars from 4 different classes demonstrates how diverse AutoSOLO events currently are.
Nicky Grist Stages - 8th/9th July - Request for marshals and staffing assistance
We would like to invite you to assist us in the running of the Nicky Grist Stages and the Spencer Sport Acropolis Rally that are taking place over two days on the 8th and 9th July, based at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells. These events will tick all the boxes for any Rally Marshal with the best competitors in the country joining together to compete on some of the best stages in the country.
The format of the rally will be split over two days. On Saturday it will be the Nicky Grist Stages where all eleven Championships will compete over 8 stages and 45 miles of gravel roads run twice in the Crychan, Halfway forests and the military training roads of Epynt. The cars will return to the Showground for a midday service and then at the end of the day where the BTRDA and Welsh Championships will celebrate and present the awards for their competitors. Meanwhile the BRC crews, after a quick swap from gravel to asphalt suspension, will then go into overnight Parc Ferme.
On Sunday the event moves to the asphalt stages of the military ranges with the BRC competitors on to the second day of their double header event and will be joined by competitors in the MAXXIS MSA English Rally Championship and other club competitors who will be competing on the newly created Spencer Sport Acropolis Rally. They will compete over three challenging asphalt stages which will be run four times, twice each way, making a total of twelve stages. New for this year is that there will be no remote service on the Ranges but the cars will be returning to service at Builth Wells and again for the finish celebrations.
As you can see we will need a considerable number of marshals to help to cover the stages, Showground and Service Area as well as timing and radio crews, but with a choice of one or both days, and a wide variety of stages and locations available no-one should find themselves without options as to where they can provide valuable assistance.
Unfortunately due to military activities, which will carry on throughout the weekend, the MOD cannot allow anyone to stay on the Ranges overnight, so if you are not able to get local accommodation we are able to offer for marshals free camping at the Showground in Builth Wells with a small charge of £10 pounds for an electric hook up if you need it. Camping is available from Friday to Monday morning so if anyone wants to book a place please let me know.
For those who have helped us on previous years events we would like to thank you most sincerely for your invaluable assistance and hope to see you again this year.
As I said we would very much value your assistance and we have a great team of venue commanders below who would be very grateful for your support and who you can contact direct or via myself.

I do need to remind you about MSA marshalling requirements which apply this year, in order to be able to marshal on your own or with a team on a post. The fact that at least one (one out of five marshals) or most of you must have done the MSA’s On-line training and be registered on the MSA Marshals registration scheme. If you are not yet registered its not to late to do this by going to the MSA’s website https://www.msauk.org/Marshals/Overview
If you have any questions please ask. if you have already been in contact or received this email then sorry to duplicate the message.
