It is with considerable sadness that I have to advise you that our very good friend Midi Arnold passed away suddenly yesterday. Midi had not been well for some days with a bad cough and cold but the exact cause is still being looked into and was nevertheless totally unexpected.

Midi, as you all will be aware, has formed a tremendous partnership with John in looking after the running and financial affairs of the Association for many many years and this has contributed greatly to the high standing of the Association in motor sport. She is going to be greatly missed by so many people. In the past hours I have been trying to remember her and keep a smile in my mind by recalling her wonderful dry wit and the sharp ways in which she would remind people who had failed to pay their subs on time. I am sure you will all have your own similar good memories. For me she has been a very good friend and has always given me great support and advice, not just in the running of the Association but towards making sure that life is enjoyed to the full.

I will keep you advised of any funeral arrangements in due course. In the meantime if there is any Association business that you need to discuss please contact either Dave or myself.
