Stockport 061 Motor Club was formed on 1 January 2007, after the merging of High Peak & 061 Motor Club and Stockport Motor Club.
Stockport Motor Club was founded in 1903 as The New Stockport & District Motor Cycle & Light Car Club and is the third oldest motor club in the country.
The club is affiliated to the Motor Sports Association and is a member of a number of Regional Associations. We are also a founding member of Motor Sport (North West) Ltd. which pools the resources of several motor clubs in the North West of England to promote stage rallies, the proceeds of which go to charitable causes.
The Club helps to organise numerous motor sport events including our own highly successful stage rally - SMC Stages at Weeton Army Camp, previously held at Anglesey Racing Circuit and Caernarfon Airfield, where we were the first Motor Club to hold an event. We also organise our successful road rally - 061 Road Rally
