Unfortunately, we are not the only club to experience this problem, which will only get worse as venues are developed, but we will make every effort to maintain the club’s premiere event for 2018.
As we are rounds of several of your Rally Championships we apologise to you and your Championship contenders for this decision which I can assure you was not taken lightly.
With the recent withdrawal of permission for the use of Throckmorton Airfield for events, Oxford Motor Club's 2017 Carfax Stage Rally was not going to be able to use the Warwickshire venue for a fourth time. Some suggestions for alternative venues have been looked at in the last two months but were, unfortunately, unsuitable for us to hold a quality event.
With the time left rapidly becoming too short to develop and put on a Stage Rally from scratch at a new venue, the 2017 Carfax Stage Rally (that was scheduled for 5th August) is now sadly cancelled and Oxford Motor Club will continue to look for another venue on which to promote the Carfax for 2018.
